Consultation checklist

What to ask before any med spa treatment

A good consultation answers your questions plainly. Here are the ones worth bringing with you.

Questions that tell you a lot

How a provider answers matters as much as what they say.

  • Who performs this, and what is their license?
  • How were they trained for this treatment?
  • What device or product is it, specifically?
  • What does a series involve?
  • What aftercare do I need?
  • What happens if something goes wrong?
  • What is the total cost before I start?

A short prep list

  1. Your medications, including vitamins and supplements.
  2. Health conditions and any recent changes.
  3. Allergies and past reactions to products or treatments.
  4. Past cosmetic procedures, with rough dates.
  5. Your questions for the provider.
  6. A notebook or phone to record answers and the quoted cost.

Having this ready helps a licensed provider decide what is suitable for you, and it means you are less likely to leave with an unanswered question.

Reasons to wait

It is your face, your skin and your money. You can leave a consultation without booking, and you can come back later.

Slow down if there is pressure to book the same day, if no one offers a proper consultation, if you get vague answers about who will perform the treatment, or if the provider will not give you the cost in writing. To look up a license, ask for the person's full name and license type, then search the Washington state board for that profession.
